thoughtful gift made in New Hampshire. Crafts at the
Capitol features a select group of artists, many who are
juried members of the League of New Hampshire Craftsmen.
Shop Local. Shop Quality. Shop Crafts at the Capitol.
This fine craft show has something for everyone on your
list. Wearable art includes jewelry crafted from silver,
glass, wool, and paper; scarves, and hand weaving. Home
goods include a selection of pottery, glass ware, iron
work, photography, and pewter. There will be collectible
teddy bears, works on paper, and gifts for children, of
any age!
Crafts at the Capitol is the creation of Henniker glass
artist, Gigi Laberge. Laberge wanted to have a fine
quality craft show during the holidays, "a special show
featuring the finest of crafts, at affordable prices."
Encouraged by a newspaper article explaining the
economic value to the community by shopping local, she
decided this was the year to, "make it happen." Knowing
the Capitol Center for the Arts as a wonderful venue to
showcase talent, Laberge rented space at the downtown
Concord landmark. Next, she invited a select group of
her favorite artists to join her. The artwork this group
creates amazes me; I want to buy something from every
artist here," Laberge says. "For me, this started as a
way to share my work with my friends in Concord, then as
way to share the work of other artists, and now, well
now it has a life of its own!"
"Crafts at the Capitol is more than a craft show,"
Laberge says, "it's a showcase of talent, spirit, and
community. It's awesome; it's an event not to be missed.
